2007 Estate Monopole Pinot Noir

A cold snap brought 4 days of low teen temperatures to the area in early spring of '07, while the vines were still dormant. This resulted in a hardening effect on the vine that produced small but very intense fruit with a good deal of expression of the terroir that nurtures the varietal. The '07 Vintage, I believe, may be one of the most unique, intense, complex and well balanced of the past decade. The wine is velvety and feminine and leads into a prolonged "Peacock Tail" finish that is one of the hallmarks of our vineyard. This wine drinks well in its youth and will lay down for many years to come due to its vinification in the traditional Burgundian Style.
