2008 Gold "Barrel Select" Pinot Noir

The '08 Vintage of the 5 barrels each; of two of Windward's four clones; drinks profoundly like a Vosne-Romanée from Burgundy. Not surprising as the 2 clones that we use to produce the Gold Barrel Select were both supplied by cuttings from Grand Cru Vineyards located in that area of Burgundy. All the nice things that I say about the '08 Monopole are repeated for the limited 240 cases of this wine only more dramatically, without the nuances that are added by the Pommard Clone which are used in the Monopole cuvee.
