2008 "Monopole" Pinot Noir

The ‘08 Vintage displays the cumulative effects of the early spring freeze that occurred in '07. As a result the "Hardening" vine is still supplying opulent fruit that ferments into a wonderfully balanced wine. The "Windward Profile" of strawberry nose, bright Bing cherry fruit up front, a sensuous, feminine and velvet middle palate, and finally the "Peacock Tail finish seems to open and spread forever. All this to say it may well be the Vintage of the decade but we’ll hold judgment 'til the '09 is bottled as it is tasting wonderfully in barrel.
