2011 Monopole Pinot Noir
Paso Robles Appellation puts this vintage on the map as “most unique” for most varietals and Pinot Noir was no exception. Prevailing agricultural conditions produced very small but intense fruit and Windward Vineyard had a yield of ¾ Ton/Acre. The ’11 Vintage expresses “varietal fidelity” of soft tannins; yet is more profound and concentrated than prior vintages. Deep, ripe, berry bouquet and fruit are evident in the nose and wine entry on the palate. The extraction and mineralization follow slowly and intensify a prolonged finish designed to complement a wide variety of food pairings that will escalate to layered complexity with age. Exquisite paired with salmon poached in caramelized fennel.
