Double Gold Medal Winner - SF Chronicle (received a GOLD rating from every judge)
This was our 2nd straight vintage that showed beautiful rebound from the harsh growing season of the 2011 vintage. Our yield was a bit under 2 tons per acre, which as in the past, is a “sweet spot” for the fruit to reflect the intense minerality that our wine demonstrates when conditions are more ideal. The hue of the wine indicates the beautiful bouquet which will reflect a nose of wild berries and a tinge of cassis. The fruit will follow with Windward’s bright Bing cherry essence so familiar to our many followers over the past 21 years of production. A seductive “middle” to the wine tasting will introduce the long, complex “peacock tail” finish that is the signature of our mature Windward Vineyard.
