Double Gold Winner at the 2017 SF Chronicle
Drought conditions generated our earliest harvest in nearly 20 years yielding an intense and small berry with excellent concentrated flavors. Violets and ripe berry fruit show on the nose, fading to hints of leather and cigar box aromas. A favorable growing season produced a rich bodied wine with balanced acidity. Bing cherry fruit is evident on entry to the palate mingling with cedar and hints of cardamom. Drinking beautifully on release, this wine will continue to evolve in the bottle for the next 15 years, and may well become the vintage of the decade.
